Whole School Speech and Drama

By Ms Smith (Speech and Drama Coordinator)

Following our Speech and Drama concert, we had a small LAMDA examination session on Friday 22nd March. This date provided our Year 11 students with the option to take their exams prior to the start of their GCSEs, and they were joined by students from Years 4 to Upper Sixth, taking a range of examinations including Speaking in Public and, for those who participate in individual or duet lessons, Acting.

The results were fantastic, with the majority of students receiving Distinctions. Special mention goes to Lower Sixth student Molly Lincoln, who, after starting lessons in Year 3, completed her Speech and Drama journey by receiving a Distinction in her final Gold Medal examination.

Commendation also goes to Beatrice Humphrey (Year 5), who, when her duet partner was unfortunately unavailable, completed her first acting exam with Hattie Rogers (Year 6) kindly reading in.

Mr Stratton (Director of Drama and Dance) commented on the success and the breadth and range of talent at BGS: “It's truly inspiring to witness such remarkable achievements and the diverse skills showcased by our students. Congratulations to all involved.”
